What is 'Be Renaissance?'

Be Renaissance, I guess is my tag line. I grew up wanting to be able to do so many things. The constant push for specialization to concentrate on just one thing was never my idea of fun. My role model Da Vnci understood a myriad of crafts. He was able to incorporate a deeper understanding to each area by investigating area's that touched upon  his area of interest.  Having the liberal skill-set has always been my goal. I spend my time between Music, Film / Videography / Hosting and Coaching .

Are you a vocalist or a musician?

I am a vocalist, song writer and composer. I program the songs and then give the finished track to musicians to record in the studio. This gives me a way to try out new ideas. In addition I can do any remixes that I like without having to re-record everything over again. My voice is an instrument that I use in as many ways as possible.

Who is your role model in music?

I grew up with Kate Bush and Paul Weller as my role models. Kate Bus has a wide skill set and I came to believe that a true musician should have far reaching skills. I listened to Richard Tauber and also classical music 'Holst, The Planets ' was my favourite. Upon my first hearing of Summertime, by Porgy and Bess I was smitten. Jazz is almost the oposite of Classical, where expertise is in performing the piece exactly the same over and over, a very disciplined and regimented perspective. For many Jazz artist never performing a piece the same way twice is almost like the ultimate desire, living and breating it in the moment. I love Nelson Rangell, Najee, Norman Brown, Pharell, also love Anita Baker, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.

Which have been your best performances?

I have perfromed for royalty, opened for artists such as Norman Brown of Mojazz Records. I have appeared on BBC, ITV as well as other North American and European TV channels. My best performance was in a jazz club when the crowd burst into applause half way through the song. I was totally thrown off my song.

What is something that people don't know about you?

Well I actually don't relish being in front of the camera. I was happy to move to behind the camera during the filming of my debut movie Future shift. I enjoy the final result but it is not the best part of the project. I don't actually enjoy realing off everything I do, people think I am making it up.
